Pittsfield police say Rodney Sparrow, 40, is considered armed and dangerous. Sparrow is originally from Rochester, but was living with his girlfriend in the Berkshires.

Police say a woman was driving an SUV westbound on Route 31 F about 12:30 a.m. when she attempted to turn left onto Washington Street.

- Trial in 15-Year-Old Murder Case Begins Thursday, October 2, 2008 @ 8:55PMThe trial is underway in the case of a Rochester man charged with a 15-year-old murder. Police arrested Ronald Lee Vrooman for the death of Karen Marie Turtu in 1993. Her body was found in an alleyway off Lake Avenue.
- Investigators: Greece Fire Was Set Thursday, October 2, 2008 @ 8:55PMFire investigators ruled that a fire over the weekend at a Greece home was intentionally set. Investigators say someone threw a Molotov cocktail at the front of a home on Malden Street early Sunday morning. A passerby reported the fire.
- Wegmans Photo Centers Finished Thursday, October 2, 2008 @ 8:55PMIf you are used to getting your photos processed at Wegmans, start making other plans. The supermarket giant is getting out of the picture business. Wegmans will close 49 photo centers in all, with 13 of those to close at local Wegmans stores. The photo centers’ will close next Saturday, October 11.

Police say one person was shot near the intersection of Lyell Avenue and Warner Street. They say the victim suffered a wound to the leg.

Macedon police officials are releasing few details, but say the crash happened shortly after 3:30 at the intersection of West Walworth Road and Kittering Road.

Rochester police say officers spotted a suspect wanted for outstanding gun charges. The suspect took off in his vehicle, hit a parked car and forced another car off the road.

Seven years ago, thousands of African refugees immigrated to the United States and became known as the Lost Boys of Sudan. About forty of the lost boys ended up in Rochester.
